Establish the actual component behind this ASME B16.5 Class 150 carbon steel polished RF blind-flange enquiry. Its title says forged carbon steel, while actual choices are Polypropylene or PP and the table says Mould. Material and manufacturing require supplier reconciliation before either source becomes a confirmed supply specification.
Confirm material identity and the selected nominal size
Request the full material designation, grade, condition, traceability and manufacturing records for the offered component. Steel and polymer options cannot be treated as interchangeable. The title’s forged wording and table’s Mould entry need allocation to the actual body route.
Both variants use size None. Specify the individual nominal size and confirm supply rather than interpreting the repeated one-eighth-to6-inch table entries as accepted overall dimensions or bolt-hole diameters. Obtain an approved drawing defining closure construction, outside diameter, thickness and tolerances.
Allocate Class 150 and RF to the actual drawing
Identify the ASME B16.5 edition and accepted material/size/class requirements. Confirm RF facing dimensions, finish, bolt circle, hole count and diameter against the mating flange. Clarify generic Equal and NPT OR BSPT fields without assuming threaded features on the closure.
Class 150 is a source class reference rather than a direct operating-pressure value; Low Pressure is qualitative. Obtain the accepted material/document/temperature basis and numerical duty. Agree which surfaces are polished and the inspection criteria without inferring protective performance from Polishing wording.
Accept the complete closure for the intended service
State medium, pressure, temperature, cycling, loads and compatibility requirements. Listed water, fire-protection, gas and petroleum applications need actual project approval. Agree gasket, fasteners, installation/inspection, material/manufacturing/dimensional documents, marking, confirmed availability, quotation scope and three-year warranty/customization terms.
