A weld-neck flange enquiry needs to define both the pipe connection and the bolted sealing interface. This title identifies carbon steel, raised-face and Class 150 requirements with a B16.5 reference. Confirm the selected weld-neck model and its drawing before assessing those requirements, since generic flange options and mixed images do not establish one construction for every item.
Match the neck to the mating pipe
Provide pipe outside diameter and wall thickness or schedule, then request the selected neck and bore geometry and weld preparation. Explain what the millimetre size option measures and identify the individual nominal size. Check the pipe connection, flange envelope and installation space together. A product image may illustrate a flange form, but it cannot supply measured neck dimensions or establish the actual end preparation offered.
Define the raised-face Class 150 interface
Specify the B16.5 edition, required Class 150 and facing acceptance details. Obtain flange thickness, bolt circle, all hole dimensions and the sealing-face specification on the same drawing, matched to the adjoining flange and sealing arrangement. Request dimensional conformity and material-dependent rating evidence for the selected configuration. A class label or a generic mounting-hole field alone cannot establish the complete compatible joint.
Confirm grade and fabrication acceptance
Select the carbon-steel variant and state its exact material grade and governing specification. Stainless-steel alternatives require their own grade assessment. If forged manufacture is required, obtain traceable production and inspection records for that item. Provide actual fluid, operating pressure and temperature alongside welding, assembly and examination requirements. Assess the material, pipe interface and complete flanged joint against those conditions; surface appearance and general process labels do not qualify route or service. The enquiry should identify one drawing, grade and documented duty requirement.
