This petrochemical plant listing describes a large-diameter steel blind flange with an ASME B16.47 Series A reference and a Polished surface. The actual component needs a selected nominal size, material and closure drawing. Confirm those details before using the broad listing range as a purchase specification.
Define the large-diameter closure drawing
Specify the nominal size and required Series A drawing under the applicable standard edition and scope. The shared 1/2–120 inch range does not establish that one standard covers every listed size or that every material and class combination is available. Obtain confirmation for the exact component.
Check facing, thickness, bolt circle, hole count and diameter against the mating flange and closure requirements. Four half-inch holes appear in the table, but should not be applied automatically to a large-diameter design. Do not assume interchangeability with another series or flange standard without the dimensional review.
Select the steel and face acceptance criteria
Alloy Steel, Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel blind options are selectable. Choose the actual grade, condition and required traceability for the intended service instead of treating generic steel names as complete material specifications. Aluminum options are separate choices and do not inherit the steel description.
Polished does not identify a measured face roughness or establish gasket and mating-face acceptance. Agree finish criteria and inspection requirements on the selected drawing. Request the material and dimensional records required by the purchase specification, including the evidence supporting the stated standard reference.
Review the petrochemical closure duty
Describe the fluid, concentration, contaminants, pressure, temperature, cycles and loads affecting the closure. Establish the actual material-dependent pressure-temperature and joint requirements under the plant specification. The application wording supplies no blanket chemical compatibility approval. Confirm inspections, marking, preservation, availability, quantity and delivery for the selected steel blind flange.
