This ANSI/ASME B16.5 Class 1500 ASTM A350 LF2 flange enquiry requests a 3-inch socket-weld construction. Begin with the socket/pipe interface and accepted full drawing before evaluating class and material requirements.

Accept the socket and mating pipe fit

Specify socket bore and depth, compatible pipe outside diameter and wall, assembly/welding requirements and inspection. Define outside diameter, thickness, bore, facing geometry and roughness, gasket seating, bolt circle, hole quantity and diameter and tolerances.

Reference photos include an open flange and an internally threaded hubbed example. They assist comparison without certifying socket-weld supply, Class 1500, LF2 or actual facing. Accept the selected construction rather than substituting a threaded component from a photograph. Six-hole wording and the repeated range do not establish drilling for every size or class.

Choose actual construction and documented compliance

Twelve variants combine Carbon Steel or Stainless Steel, one 1/2-inch to 24-inch range and blind, weld-neck, slip-on, socket-weld, lap-joint or threaded types. Confirm exact size and construction. Three-inch title wording is an enquiry size within that range, not a separate variant or inventory promise. Other types require corresponding closure, neck/end, assembly or thread criteria.

Agree the applicable B16.5 document designation, edition, scope and Class 1500 compliance evidence. Class naming is not fixed numerical working pressure. Assign any ASTM A350 LF2 requirement to the accepted carbon steel specification, selected grade/condition and heat-traceable certificate; it does not certify stainless choices.

Qualify production and the installed operating basis

Obtain actual manufacturing, relevant condition/test and inspection records. CNC-machined surfaces do not establish body route, heat treatment, certified grade or origin. No selected pressure-temperature envelope is supplied.

Provide fluid composition, temperature, pressure and cycling for assessment with the mating flange, gasket and fasteners. Construction naming gives context only. Send the exact-size socket/end/face/drilling drawing, selected class and standard, material and production evidence and complete duty. Both dimensional compatibility and service acceptance need the selected documents for the assembled joint.
