This stainless-steel flange enquiry includes 304, 316 and 316L grade references alongside PN16 and Class 150 requirements. Define one intended configuration before choosing from the general size and material options. The selected standard, construction and mating dimensions need to identify the same flange and assembly, with material records linked to that item.
Choose one standard and pressure designation
Clarify the complete governing standard and edition behind the general ANSI reference. State whether the project needs PN16 or Class 150 within the applicable specification and request its dimensional and material-dependent rating evidence. These labels do not establish interchangeable flange patterns or one universal operating pressure. Confirm the nominal size and pressure designation together before checking the mating component.
Define the plate flange assembly
For a plate-flange requirement, request a drawing showing the bore, thickness, sealing face, bolt circle and all hole dimensions. Identify any separate pipe-end component and explain how it belongs in the proposed assembly. Give pipe outside diameter, wall and joining details where relevant. Clarify what the millimetre size option measures rather than treating it as a complete flange specification. Generic head-code or mounting-hole fields cannot replace a full mating-interface drawing.
Select a traceable grade for the duty
Choose the exact stainless grade and its material specification instead of treating 304, 316 and 316L as interchangeable labels. Carbon-steel alternatives require their own grade assessment. Obtain traceable material, manufacturing and inspection records for the selected item, including evidence for a forged requirement when applicable. Provide the fluid, operating pressure and temperature plus sealing and assembly requirements so the complete joint can be reviewed. A smooth surface does not establish grade, production route or qualified service.
