This 2-inch NPT galvanized coupling enquiry includes A105 N material and B16.11 dimensional references. The actual choice is Coupling / 14 mm / Carbon Steel. Define the supplied component and obtain its accepted drawing and documents before relying on the product name for size, grade or finish.

Match the coupling to both pipe ends

Establish the required nominal size and identify what the 14 mm label measures. Show both ends, bore, wall, overall dimensions and tolerances. The 4 in overall-length entry is a separate measurement; unitless height 2 and the 0.2-inch mounting-hole value cannot establish the nominal pipe size or supply missing units.

Confirm the female/NPT thread designation, end locations, mating interface and inspection requirements. One reference shows internal threads, while another shows a stepped smooth bore. They cannot establish one supplied configuration. Agree the actual end arrangement on the drawing rather than inferring it from a representative image.

Specify material condition and coating

Connect the A105 N reference to the selected material designation, edition, grade, product condition and traceable inspection records. Do not infer accepted heat treatment from the name alone. Identify applicable B16.11 dimensional requirements and request evidence of conformity, together with the relevant forged-production records.

Define the galvanized finish and any painting scope explicitly, including functional-surface treatment and required acceptance evidence. Silver appearance does not certify coating type or thickness. Finish naming cannot establish corrosion performance for an unspecified medium or environment.

Confirm service and installation conditions

Provide the application, fluid, pressure, temperature, cycling, exposure and imposed loads. Class 150 and low-pressure wording need a governing material-temperature basis. Flexibility, chemical/UV resistance and underground-rated labels require project-specific acceptance rather than assumed approval. Agree installation, inspection, requested OEM, ODM or OBM scope, and the stated one-year warranty terms with the quotation.
