A JIS stainless-steel socket-weld raised-face flange enquiry needs one defined standard, pressure designation and nominal size. The socket connection and mating face should be matched to the actual pipe joint. Identify the required flange specification and obtain the corresponding drawing and material records before assessing whether the proposed item meets the installation requirements.
Select the JIS Standard and Designation
State the exact JIS standard and edition that apply to the enquiry, then identify the required K designation for the selected nominal size. Keep that designation within its governing standard. Do not substitute another standard's Class label as though it were the same specification. Request the flange outside diameter, thickness, bolt circle and drilling dimensions for the defined standard and size combination.
Match the Socket and Raised-Face Joint
Obtain the socket bore, depth and related end dimensions on the selected flange drawing. Compare them with the pipe dimensions and joining requirements. Confirm the raised-face geometry and the gasket and mating-face specifications for the joint. Review bolt-hole alignment and the full connection dimensions together, rather than choosing a flange only from its nominal size or general external shape.
Specify Stainless Grade and Operating Scope
State the exact stainless-steel grade required and obtain the associated material documentation. Name the process medium and describe the intended pressure and service temperatures. Request the applicable pressure-temperature qualification for the selected material, standard and designation. An industry name alone does not establish suitability for a particular duty. Complete the enquiry with the standard scope, size, socket and facing drawing, material record and operating evidence so that the proposed flange can be assessed as part of the actual joint.
