This black carbon-steel end-cap enquiry brings together ASME B16.9, SCH40 and A234 WPB requirements for a butt-weld pipe termination. The Cap options and photograph establish the general family. The chosen cap needs its own dimensional, material and inspection package before those requirements can be accepted for a particular pipe end.
Build the cap drawing around the weld opening
Identify nominal size, opening outside diameter, actual end wall, cap depth and overall envelope. Explain the millimetre labels and show the required edge preparation against the adjoining pipe. Equal and Hexagon do not define the cap profile, and the mounting-hole field cannot replace measured end dimensions. Confirm the applicable B16.9 edition and dimensional inspection requirements. Check axial clearance and room for joining and inspection, since the bowl-shaped image cannot establish the selected installation envelope.
Connect SCH40 and WPB to the selected option
Relate SCH40 to the chosen nominal size and actual wall record instead of assigning one thickness to every variant. Select Carbon Steel for the A234 WPB requirement and request the full material specification, edition and traceable grade evidence. Stainless Steel and Alloy alternatives need separate exact specifications and grades. Verify Forged through manufacturing and inspection records. The photograph supports cap identity but cannot qualify actual wall, material or production route across the option range.
Define the black finish and termination acceptance
Agree coating preparation, scope, coverage and weld-zone condition beyond the words Black and Painting. Appearance alone does not establish protective performance. Provide fluid, pressure, temperature, corrosion and mating-pipe conditions with joining and inspection requirements for assessment of the complete termination. Pipe Class 125 alone does not establish allowable duty. Customized Size does not prove arbitrary dimensional capability or availability. Acceptance should reference the selected cap drawing and matching wall, material, coating and production evidence.
