This elbow enquiry retains the requested 2-inch, 180-degree butt-weld configuration and ASME B16.9 / ASTM A105 references. The actual variants identify elbow choices, but their millimetre labels do not establish the title's nominal size. Define one selected return geometry and material before assessing standard conformity or suitability for a welded installation.
Define the return envelope and pipe ends
Provide nominal pipe size, outside diameter, wall thickness and weld preparation for both ends. Explain whether each millimetre option represents nominal size or another measured dimension. For a 180-degree return, specify the centreline radius, centre-to-end dimensions and available installation clearance. State whether equal or reducing ends are required and identify both end sizes. The curved forms in the photographs cannot verify the requested angle or radius, and the Male/Female and mounting-hole labels do not define a butt-weld interface.
Resolve material and manufacturing acceptance
Select the carbon-steel alternative when retaining the ASTM A105 requirement and request its exact material and production records. A stainless-steel alternative needs a separate grade and material specification. Ask how ASME B16.9 and ASTM A105 apply to the offered elbow, including applicable editions and manufacturing and inspection criteria. These references should be reconciled with the actual production route before acceptance. Surface colour and shape cannot establish material grade or process. Describe the required coating preparation and weld-zone condition instead of treating Painting as a complete protective-system specification.
Assess the complete welded return
Supply mating-pipe details, fluid, pressure, temperature and corrosion conditions, together with the required joining and inspection plan. Pipe Class 150 alone does not provide a pressure-temperature limit for the proposed elbow and joint. Acceptance should connect the measured return envelope and end preparation to traceable material, manufacturing and inspection evidence for the selected model.
