An A105 socket-weld flange enquiry should connect the pipe connection detail to the required flanged joint. Identify the selected socket-weld model and individual size before comparing material or class references. The proposal needs a drawing and supporting records that describe the same component, its mating pipe and its sealing interface.
Define the Socket and Pipe Fit on One Drawing
Request the socket geometry, bore and relevant pipe-interface dimensions together with the flange's nominal size. Give the mating pipe outside diameter and wall thickness and identify the joint preparation and fabrication requirements. For a two-inch project requirement, confirm the dimensional mapping to the selected model rather than relying on a broad range label. Verify the proposed connection against the installation arrangement and keep the socket construction distinct from alternative flange types.
Document A105 Material and the B16.5 Interface
Specify the applicable A105 material requirements and obtain traceable material and production records. Include forged construction explicitly where the project requires it. State the B16.5 edition and Class 150 requirement, then request facing, outside diameter, thickness, bolt circle and drilling dimensions. If a raised face is required, identify the relevant facing and sealing details. Compare these dimensions with the complete mating flange and joint specification.
Qualify the Selected Assembly's Duty and Evidence
Provide the fluid, operating pressure and temperature and obtain the material-dependent pressure-temperature basis for the selected flange. Include fabrication and joint requirements in the review. Any sector-specific acceptance or certification requirement should have current, relevant, scope-matched records; an ISO label or application list alone does not qualify product performance. Complete the enquiry with the socket drawing, individual dimensions, material and production evidence, standard/class scope and documented service limits.
