This industrial piping listing names a 45-degree butt-weld elbow with an ASME B16.9 reference. The actual variant identifies Carbon Steel. Welding wording appears in the table, but so does NPT, so confirm the connection specification before selecting the elbow for installation.
Confirm the direction change and actual ends
Provide the required angle, bend radius and center-to-end dimensions together with the mating pipe details. Ask the supplier to reconcile the butt-weld description and NPT field on the actual drawing. Those connection descriptions should not be treated as interchangeable or as a confirmed dual-end configuration.
Select the exact pipe size within the 1/2–12 inch option range, then define outside diameter, wall or schedule, bore and tolerances. The repeated range in the length, height and mounting-hole fields does not provide separate measured dimensions. Confirm end preparation using the selected piping and joint specification.
Review material and dimensional acceptance
Identify the applicable ASME B16.9 edition and requirements for the proposed elbow. Obtain the actual carbon steel grade, material condition, traceability and required inspections. The FORGED label describes source wording rather than proving the manufacturing route or material conformity of the supplied part.
The table lists Low Pressure and Not Rated without a numerical allowable envelope. Describe the process fluid, pressure, temperature, cycles and relevant loads or supports. Review the fitting and its joints against the construction project requirements instead of treating the application label as service qualification.
Complete the installation supply enquiry
Clarify the Smooth finish and any required preservation or coating, since corrosion-resistant wording does not establish universal compatibility. Check the generic Hexagon field against the elbow drawing. Agree dimensional inspection, material documents, marking, OEM requirements, quantity, delivery timing and the scope of the three-year warranty before ordering.
