This X70QS carbon steel pipe listing refers to oil and gas transmission, high-pressure duty and anti-corrosion treatment. The specification table identifies a round, non-alloy pipe. Its broad claims need to be tied to a selected supply and documented operating requirements before they can guide a purchasing decision.
Clarify the X70QS designation before selecting material
Ask for the exact governing specification, edition, grade and supply condition behind X70QS. The table only names ASTM without a document number. Do not substitute another grade designation or assume a particular pipeline supply level from the title; request traceable material and inspection records for the offered pipe.
The seamless description also needs reconciliation with the Saw technique entry. Obtain a clear manufacturing statement and the records that support it. Saw has no defined meaning here, so neither a weld process nor a cutting method should be assigned to the supplied product without confirmation.
Define wall thickness and the intended corrosion protection
Choose an outside diameter within the listed 219–1066 mm range and an actual wall thickness from the 6–20 mm entry. The two length selections are 12 m and 6 m. Confirm the complete configuration, ends and tolerance basis; the ±1% label does not specify which dimension it controls.
Anti-corrosion wording supplies no coating chemistry, thickness or inspection criterion. Ask whether protection is included and agree surface preparation, application and acceptance requirements. Hot-rolled and non-oiled table entries should be checked against the intended finish rather than treated as evidence of a protective coating.
Document acceptance for the transmission operating envelope
Provide oil or gas composition, pressure, temperature, cycling and imposed loads for review of material, joints and rating. High-pressure and thick-wall labels do not establish a numerical service limit. Verify actual API or ISO 9001 certificate scope and validity, together with project-required tests and traceability.
