This pipe flange page supports an enquiry for a carbon steel blind RF configuration with an ASME B16.5 class 300 requirement. Confirm the exact selected form before treating the fitting as a closure. The requested flange needs a configuration-specific drawing, complete mating dimensions and material and pressure-temperature qualification for the intended joint.
Confirm the closed-face blind configuration
Ask for a drawing that identifies the required blind form and shows its closed-face geometry. A general flange photograph can represent a different configuration and should not establish the closure specification. State the RF facing requirement and the applicable dimensional standard and edition. Verify that the form shown in the selected drawing is the one intended for the piping closure application.
Check the complete mating flange arrangement
Provide the mating flange size, facing dimensions, bolt pattern and gasket requirements. Confirm overall flange dimensions and the required thickness under the governing specification. The selected size label needs a clear relationship to the actual joint. Any special pipe-side or connection requirement should be identified explicitly rather than inferred from a generic connection description.
Qualify class 300 for the selected material
State the exact Carbon Steel grade and required manufacturing construction. A Stainless Steel selection needs its own grade specification and qualification. Provide the service medium, design pressure and temperature, then request the pressure-temperature class that applies to the same selected flange. A class number is not an operating-pressure value on its own. Review the closed-form drawing, mating dimensions and material, construction and rating documentation together before accepting the flange for the intended closure.
