This carbon steel St37.2 C22.8 A105 raised-face forged flange enquiry brings material selection and construction selection together. Define each separately: combined grade naming cannot establish equivalence, and slip-on and blind forms need different acceptance drawings.
Select the governing material designation
Confirm the applicable material standard, edition, grade, product form and condition. St37.2, C22.8 and A105 wording does not certify one flange to all three designations or establish interchangeable requirements. Obtain heat-traceable material and inspection evidence for the actual supplied selection.
Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel are separate actual choices. The carbon steel naming cannot certify stainless alternatives. Forged and CNC Machined wording also requires production and dimensional inspection records; surface appearance cannot prove manufacture, heat treatment or corrosion performance.
Distinguish slip-on fit from blind closure
Twelve actual variants offer six constructions within a shared 1/2"~24" range. Select an exact size and construction. A slip-on flange needs accepted pipe/bore fit and attachment/weld requirements; a blind flange needs solid closure geometry and thickness. Weld-neck, socket-weld, lap-joint and threaded alternatives require their corresponding acceptance criteria.
The two viewed photos show open-bore ring flanges with different bore proportions and drilling. They help compare shapes without establishing blind supply, forging, exact dimensions or material grade. The broad size range does not identify discrete available sizes.
Approve facing and the complete joint basis
Confirm outside diameter, thickness, bore or closure, facing height, facing diameter and finish, bolt circle, hole dimensions/quantity and tolerances. Raised-face naming needs measured geometry and gasket acceptance. The table's repeated Bolt Hole Diameter range and quantity 6 cannot define drilling for every selected size.
Agree the governing dimensional standard, selected pressure class and numerical operating envelope. For construction duty, provide actual medium composition, pressure, temperature, cycling and mechanical loads, together with mating gasket/fastener requirements. Submit the selected material/construction drawing and evidence as one acceptance package.
