A SCH40 carbon-steel butt-weld elbow for a requested 180-degree return needs a defined layout before selection. The title establishes the enquiry direction, while the size and material choices require a drawing that identifies the actual fitting. Curved fittings in the photographs do not establish the same return angle or dimensions for every option.
Set the return spacing and installation envelope
Show the required centreline radius, distance between the two end centres, overall height and clearances on the selected drawing. Check these dimensions against the adjoining parallel pipe runs and reserve access for welding and inspection. Confirm equal-end nominal size, outside diameter, actual wall and weld preparation at both ends. Explain what each millimetre label measures. The Hexagon and mounting-hole fields cannot replace a measured elbow layout.
Link SCH40 to a defined size and material
SCH40 must correspond to the chosen nominal size and actual wall record; it does not identify a fixed thickness across the listed sizes. Select carbon steel for the title requirement and request the exact material specification and grade. Stainless Steel and Alloy alternatives need their own material assignments. Agree applicable material and dimensional standards and editions, since the source supplies no standard number. Obtain traceable production and inspection evidence before accepting Forged as the actual manufacturing route.
Define coating and welded-return acceptance
Specify surface preparation, coating coverage and required weld-end condition rather than relying on Painting alone. Provide fluid, pressure, temperature, corrosion conditions and mating-pipe specifications for assessment of the complete joint. Pipe Class 1000 alone does not establish allowable duty. All Size and Customized Size do not prove arbitrary size capability, stock or availability. Base acceptance on the selected return drawing, size-linked wall, material records and agreed joining and inspection requirements.
