This 60-degree elbow enquiry references a 2 inch SCH40 ASTM A234 WPB requirement. Carbon steel and stainless steel alternatives are selectable. Confirm the actual size, angle, wall and material specification for the chosen item before matching it to a pipe installation.
Verify the nominal size and 60-degree drawing
Map each label—10 mm, 12 mm, 14 mm, 50 mm or 30 mm—to a confirmed nominal pipe designation and outside diameter. A 50 mm label does not independently establish a nominal 2 inch selection. SCH40 also needs the selected size and measured end thickness rather than an assumption that every variant carries that wall.
Obtain the required 60-degree angle, centreline radius, centre-to-end dimensions and installation envelope on a drawing. No radius multiplier is established. Confirm equal or reducing ends explicitly; the combined Equal/Reducing entry does not choose the layout. Dark elbow examples in the gallery do not measure the selected angle or qualify its schedule.
Exact WPB requirement and actual joining details
Request material traceability for the exact specification and grade. ASTM A234 WPB is the carbon steel enquiry focus, not an assigned grade for stainless alternatives. Casting needs actual manufacturing evidence compatible with the chosen material requirement; no seamless or forged route should be assumed.
Specify the actual end preparation. For a threaded requirement, confirm the complete designation, gender and engagement; Male/Female and NPT labels are incomplete selected-item instructions. A welded request needs its own end and wall-match details. Generic length, height and mounting-hole entries are not a complete elbow drawing.
Service and inspection requirements for selection
Provide operating medium, pressure, temperature and piping requirements with the dimensional drawing. Class 125 and Low Pressure wording do not establish fixed working pressure. Painting, flexibility, corrosion, chemical, UV and underground requirements need actual finish/design evidence. Request dimensional and end inspection with material and manufacturing records before accepting the elbow for the documented duty.
