This WPB A234 carbon steel tee is listed for shipbuilding with ABS, B16.9, forged and seamless wording. The main image shows tee forms, while the actual variants remain labelled Reducer. Confirm the selected fitting configuration and required marine documentation before treating the entry as an approved shipboard supply.
Verify the intended approval and shipbuilding requirements
Ask what the ABS reference means for the proposed order and request the actual approval document where required. Check issuer, validity, scope and coverage of the selected product. The title alone does not demonstrate ABS certification or acceptance by the project for a particular shipboard system.
Identify the piping medium, exposure conditions, pressure, temperature, cycling and mechanical loads. Establish material, joint and rating acceptance for that service with the applicable project requirements. Shipbuilding wording does not provide universal marine suitability, and High Pressure in the table supplies no numerical operating limit.
Confirm the tee drawing and WPB material condition
Resolve the Reducer-labelled selection against a drawing of the tee run, branch and all ends. Confirm actual equal or reducing dimensions, wall or schedule and center distances. The photograph supports shape only, without measuring equality or proving grade. Select one size from the broad half-inch to 110-inch entry.
Agree metric dimensions and welding end preparation for that configuration. Request governing B16.9 and A234 WPB editions, full material condition and traceability. Carbon Steel and a234wpb are selectable labels; the selected chemistry, properties and inspection records must establish the actual material supply.
Document manufacture, finish and final acceptance
Obtain evidence for forged and seamless manufacture with the required tests. Define the painted finish and inspection criteria without assuming marine corrosion protection. Clarify any relevant Hexagon, mounting-hole or thread fields against the drawing, and agree the complete project acceptance package for the confirmed fitting.
