THHN/THWN Wire Specifications
1. Description
- THHN: Thermoplastic High Heat-resistant Nylon-coated.
- THWN: Thermoplastic Heat and Water-resistant Nylon-coated.
2. Conductor Material
- Copperor Aluminum (bare or coated).
3. Insulation
- THHN: Flame-retardant thermoplastic (PVC).
- THWN: Water-resistant thermoplastic (PVC).
4. Jacket
- Nylonjacket for both THHN and THWN for additional protection.
5. Voltage Rating
- 600 Volts.
6. Temperature Rating
- THHN:
- 90°C (194°F)dry locations.
- THWN:
- 75°C (167°F)wet locations.
- 90°C (194°F)dry locations.
7. Standard Compliance
- UL 83, UL 1063.
- ASTM B3, ASTM B8.
8. Applications
- Conduits, ducts, and open air wiring for commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.
