This FBE-coated steel pipe with dual-seal socket enquiry targets underground and marine pipeline applications. The table also lists a galvanized surface, so the actual coating construction needs clarification. Confirm the finished pipe and seal system before treating the title performance wording as an accepted specification.
Distinguish FBE from the galvanized surface entry
Ask whether FBE, galvanizing or a documented multi-layer arrangement is proposed. Do not assume the catalogue establishes a combined system. Obtain substrate preparation, internal/external coverage, coating thickness, cure, adhesion and inspection criteria, together with a suitable field-joint and repair procedure.
Request the full steel designation, applicable ASTM document and edition, manufacturing route, condition and traceability. Carbon and Non-Alloy are broad records rather than a complete material specification. API/EMT/Thick Wall labels and the processing-service list require allocation to the actual supplied pipe.
Allocate dimensions and dual-seal joint performance
All three variants pair thickness 1.2 with lengths 12 m, 6 m or 6.4 m. Thickness and the outer-diameter range 150–350 lack units. Obtain the selected dimensions explicitly and clarify which property the ±10% tolerance covers, including agreed wall, length, roundness and straightness acceptance.
Require socket and seal drawings covering engagement, insertion depth, seal material, joint tolerances and assembly. Confirm allowable movement and the proposed joint test. Dimensional fit alone does not establish pressure performance, chemical compatibility or durability under the intended installation conditions.
Assess burial or marine exposure individually
Provide medium, pressure, temperature, cycling, soil or seawater exposure, loads and installation requirements. High Pressure and corrosion-resistant wording supply no numerical approval. Verify the applicable scope of API, CE and ISO 9001 documents, then agree handling, support, joint/coating inspection, marking, records and quotation scope.
