This WPB carbon steel flanged cap enquiry follows the A234 title reference and petrochemical, oil, gas and construction contexts. Hexagon-head and corrosion-resistant descriptions are also present. Define the selected cap geometry and exposure before relying on those descriptions for component or performance acceptance.
Detail the flange cap and head geometry on a drawing
The sole variant is Cap / 10 mm / Carbon Steel. Ask what the size label represents and specify nominal size, actual outside dimensions, wall and tolerances. Request the cap and flange geometry together so the quotation identifies a compatible component.
The table pairs round shape with hexagon head, four-inch overall length and a quarter-inch mounting hole. Confirm where each entry applies, including the hole layout, bolt circle, face and mating/sealing interface. The inch measurement system does not resolve the metric option, and these isolated entries are not a complete connection drawing.
Check the WPB material and painted supply package
Obtain the governing A234 document, edition, selected scope and full material condition. Request certificates, traceability and manufacturing records supporting the machining entry. This record does not identify a welded or seamless route or an additional dimensional standard; agree the actual supply requirements directly.
Specify paint system, preparation, thickness and finish criteria. Evaluate corrosion resistance using the actual medium and external exposure rather than the title alone. Chemical, UV, flexible and underground labels also need relevant verification; they should not be applied automatically to every petrochemical installation.
Set project duty and documentary acceptance requirements
Include fluid composition, chemical concentration, pressure, temperature, cycling and mechanical loads in the enquiry. Request the selected material, coating, joint and rating evidence for that envelope. Low Pressure and Class 150 remain source labels without numerical operating limits; agree inspection/testing and records for the particular construction or process project.
