A raised-face plate flange enquiry begins with the joint that the flange must match. This product includes Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel material choices and several selectable flange forms, so identify the required form before specifying the dimensions of the plate-flange request.

Choose the flange form for the joint arrangement

Blind, integral, lap-joint, orifice, slip-on, socket-weld, spectacle-blind, threaded and weld-neck options describe different flange arrangements. Select the type required by the drawing rather than assuming that every option represents the same plate flange.

For a plate-flange requirement, make the bore and attachment arrangement explicit. The material family should be selected separately, with the required grade identified for the flange that will actually be quoted.

Define the seating face and bolt geometry

A raised-face request needs the gasket seating geometry as well as the flange dimensions. Show the nominal size, bore, flange thickness, bolt-circle diameter, number of holes and hole dimensions on a drawing so the mating arrangement can be reviewed as a whole.

Confirm the applicable standard and edition together with the required nominal-pressure designation. A standard name or pressure label without the complete configuration does not establish dimensional interchangeability or suitability for the intended service.

Use the existing mating flange as a reference

When replacing or extending a joint, provide the opposing flange details and the project requirements for the gasket face. Include material grade, medium and design conditions, and identify any dimensions that must match an existing installation.

Where the request calls for a stainless plate flange, confirm that specific material and form before comparing dimensions. Keeping the selected type, face and drilling on one reference drawing makes the raised-face flange enquiry precise without treating the other selectable forms as equivalent substitutes.
