This pipe tee page supports enquiries for an A234 WPB carbon steel butt-weld configuration with straight or reducing geometry. Establish the required pressure and temperature conditions early, then link them to the exact material, wall and branch arrangement. The fitting family alone does not establish a usable service rating.
Request one clearly defined pressure qualification
Provide the design pressure with an explicit unit and the associated design temperature. Ask for the pressure-temperature specification that applies to the tee being considered, including its material grade and wall. A working-pressure label or class number without those conditions is insufficient for selection. Keep operating conditions and any required test conditions clearly identified so that a single figure is not used for different purposes.
Describe the complete run and branch arrangement
Show both run ends and the branch on a drawing. Give their diameters, walls and connection forms separately, and identify whether the required branch is equal or reduced. Define weld preparation at each intended butt-weld connection and clarify any different end requirement. The tee drawing should establish the actual geometry rather than relying on the general appearance of a product photograph.
Tie WPB and construction to the selected tee
State the exact A234 WPB carbon steel requirement and ask for its material documentation. If seamless manufacture is required, include that condition explicitly and obtain confirmation for the same fitting. Stainless Steel and Alloy choices require their own grade specifications and cannot automatically inherit the carbon steel requirement. Provide the service medium and relevant dimensional standard when requesting suitability confirmation. Final selection should follow review of the drawing, material, construction and pressure-temperature evidence for the complete tee configuration.
