This pipe elbow enquiry brings together a 45-degree direction change, a short-radius requirement and carbon-steel butt-weld construction under ASME B16.9. Use those requirements to identify one offered model and its supporting drawing. The size and material options need to be linked to that model before the curved product photographs can be used as a useful visual reference.
Check the direction change against the layout
Provide the required angle and centreline radius, together with end-to-centre dimensions and available pipe-routing space. Confirm whether the chosen elbow has equal or reducing ends. Show both outside diameters, nominal sizes and wall thickness on the drawing, and explain the dimensional basis of the millimetre-labelled option. Appearance alone cannot establish the specified angle, radius or reduction. Review access for the actual joint preparation and subsequent inspection as part of the layout check.
Define material and weld-end alignment
Select the carbon-steel alternative and state its exact grade and material specification. Stainless-steel options require their own grade identification rather than inheriting the title's material requirement. Match the bevel, land and end wall to the mating pipe and agree root alignment and inspection requirements. The Male/Female field does not define the butt-weld interface. Ask for selected-item production and inspection records before accepting the generic Casting label as the manufacturing route.
Link acceptance to the operating conditions
Specify the B16.9 edition and dimensional tolerances to be checked, then identify the evidence required for acceptance. Give the fluid, design pressure and temperature, corrosion conditions and joining requirements for engineering review of the complete connection. Class 150 is an isolated source field and does not establish a pressure-temperature limit for the elbow. Painting, head-code and mounting-hole labels also do not demonstrate protective finish performance or measured bend geometry. The final enquiry should connect one dimensional drawing with the exact grade, weld details and traceable acceptance records.
