This ASME B16.9 ASTM A234 WPB butt-weld seamless reducing-tee enquiry starts with a specified run and branch arrangement. Carbon steel and stainless steel alternatives are selectable. Confirm the actual branch reduction, joining design and material/process records before accepting a chosen tee.
Define the unequal run and branch combination
Request a drawing showing both run ends and the branch with nominal sizes, outside diameters, wall thicknesses and centre-to-end dimensions. Confirm whether the selected layout is reducing or equal. The generic Equal entry does not establish the reducing arrangement requested by the enquiry.
A single 10 mm, 12 mm, 14 mm, 50 mm or 30 mm label is not a complete reducing-tee size combination. Confirm installation clearance and every interface separately. Dark tee examples and protective caps in the gallery do not measure actual reduction, certify grade or establish seamless manufacture. Generic length, height and mounting-hole values are not a full selected drawing.
Actual butt-weld ends and material traceability
Confirm whether the supplied ends meet the welded requirement or a separately specified threaded design. Butt-weld ends need bevels, wall match and joining/inspection details. Female and NPT entries require a complete thread designation and engagement if threaded ends are selected; they do not qualify the butt-weld enquiry.
Keep ASTM A234 WPB as the carbon steel material requirement rather than assigning it to stainless alternatives. Obtain the exact grade and certificate with the applicable B16.9 edition. Seamless needs manufacturing traceability; Forged alone does not demonstrate the selected route. Painting also requires a defined finish.
Branch-joint duty and acceptance documents
Provide medium, pressure, temperature and connected piping requirements with the three-end drawing. Class 125 and Low Pressure wording do not define fixed working pressure, and Flexible does not qualify movement allowance. Request material/process records and dimensional/end inspection, then assess the tee against the actual branch-joint design.
