This hydraulic and oil pipe enquiry carries a Grade C reference under A106, together with ERW and thick-wall wording. The table identifies round, non-alloy carbon steel and cold-rolled processing. Confirm the selected specification, material and production records before relying on the title for a pressure application.

Verify the stated grade and manufacturing scope

Ask the supplier to establish how the relevant A106 edition applies to the actual pipe offered with an ERW designation. Obtain the grade, condition, chemical and mechanical records and required inspections. The title does not justify changing the documented manufacturing route to seamless or assuming conformity without supporting evidence.

Clarify the relationship between cold processing and ERW manufacture for the selected supply. The Grade C wording needs traceable material documentation rather than a generic carbon steel entry. API and ISO 9001 labels also require actual documents showing applicable scope; they are not independent product certification evidence.

Specify the hydraulic and oil service dimensions

Length choices are 6 m and 12 m, with a 6–20 mm thickness entry and a listed 219–1066 mm outside-diameter range. Select an exact diameter, wall and length combination. Establish bore dimensions, wall distribution, straightness and ovality requirements for the intended installation.

Define the dimension covered by ±1% and the acceptance measurement method. Thick Wall does not provide a pressure calculation, and a broad thickness range does not establish a particular finished bore. Request any necessary cleanliness, surface finish or additional processing as explicit purchase requirements.

Assess pressure, temperature and supply conditions

Provide fluid composition, contamination, operating pressure, temperature, cycling and external loads for material and joint review. Elevated-temperature wording supplies no allowable limit. Agree tests, traceability, non-oiled preservation and storage arrangements, then reconfirm availability, the 8–14-day delivery entry and actual-weight invoicing for the selected pipe.
