A three-inch Class 1500 bolted flange enquiry needs more than matching product wording. For this ANSI/ASME B16.5 and ASTM A350 LF2 enquiry, agree the supplied material and complete joint configuration before accepting dimensions or operating capability.
Specify one class for the three-inch joint
Identify the required flange type, nominal size, applicable B16.5 edition and class on the purchase drawing. Class 1500 and Class 150 must not be treated as interchangeable selections. Establish the accepted material and temperature basis for the requested rating; low-pressure terminology does not provide a numerical operating limit.
A size choice of None does not select the three-inch configuration. Request the bore, outside diameter, thickness, facing, bolt circle, hole count, hole diameters and tolerances. Repeated inch ranges cannot replace the approved drilling and mating-interface details.
Confirm material for every supplied component
Resolve the intended supplied material before ordering against stainless-steel or A350 LF2 naming. Where Polypropylene or PP choices are considered, identify the polymer specification and any separate backing or support materials. Request traceable documentation for the accepted configuration rather than using a photograph as material evidence.
Define the production route and polished finish requirements for the relevant components. Neither finish appearance nor general manufacturing wording certifies corrosion resistance, sealing performance or standard compliance. Any NPT or BSPT requirement should identify the exact threaded part separately from the bolted flange interface.
Evaluate water and oil service as a complete assembly
State the fluid composition, pressure, temperature, cycling and imposed loads for the actual project. Agree compatible mating parts, gasket, fasteners, support and assembly requirements together. Fire-protection, drainage or gas enquiries need their own acceptance criteria. Use PPF-PH as a quotation reference and confirm the scope of any customization and three-year warranty terms.
