A 45-degree pipe elbow enquiry should identify the required material and geometry before selecting a model. For a project that calls for A234 WPB, obtain records linking that requirement to the quoted component. Establish a consistent construction specification, then compare the elbow's dimensions and interfaces with the intended pipe assembly.
Resolve the Material and Manufacturing Specification
Name the exact material designation and applicable specification edition. An A234 WPB requirement and a general stainless-steel option are not interchangeable material descriptions; ask for traceable evidence establishing the selected grade. Confirm the manufacturing route through production records, including seamless construction when required by the project. Material, process and model identification should agree across the drawing, quotation and supporting documentation before they are used as the basis for selection.
Select the Radius, Wall and Connection Geometry
Specify the required 45-degree angle and long- or short-radius geometry, then request the relevant end-to-centre dimensions. Give the nominal size, mating outside diameter and wall requirement, and confirm what the selected size label denotes. Where SCH40 or SCH80 is specified, obtain the actual thickness mapping for the chosen size and material. Define the connection style and mating dimensions explicitly; a Male/Female label does not fully describe the end construction or joint detail.
Set the Qualified Scope for the Elbow and Joints
Identify the fitting and pressure-design standards required by the application. Provide fluid composition, operating pressure and temperature together with installation and joint requirements. Ask for model-linked records supporting that scope, and define any surface-treatment requirement separately. An undefined class number cannot establish an operating rating. Complete the enquiry with the resolved grade and manufacturing route, dimensioned radius and wall specification, connection details and documented service limits for the proposed assembly.
