This pipe elbow page supports an ASTM A234 WPB enquiry for a 22.5-degree long-radius turn with a Schedule 40 wall requirement. Define the exact change in pipe direction on the layout drawing. The selected configuration needs confirmed radius, end dimensions and material scope before it can be matched to that alignment.
Preserve the specified small turn angle
Show the required 22.5-degree direction change and centerline radius on the piping layout. Provide the center-to-end dimensions and any position limits imposed by adjoining pipework. A more common elbow angle should not be substituted without confirming that it meets the design. Ask for the exact selected-elbow drawing rather than relying on the apparent angle of a product photograph.
Confirm the wall and both end arrangements
State the nominal size, actual outside diameter and wall thickness at each end under the governing dimensional standard. Identify whether the end diameters must be equal or whether a reducing arrangement is required. Confirm how the chosen size option maps to those dimensions and to the Schedule 40 requirement. Specify both connection forms and the preparation needed to join the mating pipes.
Link WPB and service conditions to one configuration
Request the exact ASTM A234 WPB material specification for the intended Carbon Steel elbow. A Stainless Steel selection requires a separate grade specification. Provide the medium, design pressure and temperature when assessing the selected fitting, and obtain manufacturing and pressure-temperature confirmation. A wall schedule alone does not establish a rating or resistance performance. Final selection should follow review of the exact turn drawing, both end details and material and service documentation for the same elbow configuration.
