This Schedule 80 stainless steel elbow enquiry requires one defined material grade and a confirmed wall specification for the selected configuration. Identify whether the project calls for SS304 or 201, then describe the pipe turn and connections. Grade and schedule names provide enquiry requirements, but they need to be tied to actual dimensions and selected-part documentation.
Choose one stainless grade for the request
State the exact material specification and whether SS304 or 201 is required. Ask for material confirmation for that same elbow rather than treating the two labels as interchangeable. If a Carbon Steel choice is considered, define its grade separately and review its suitability independently. A general elbow photograph or surface colour cannot establish the composition of the selected fitting or demonstrate a material-specific performance claim.
Connect Schedule 80 to the pipe and turn drawing
Give the nominal pipe designation and actual wall requirement under the applicable dimensional standard. Request confirmation of both end diameters and walls, including whether the required ends are equal or reducing. Add the turn angle, centerline radius and center-to-end dimensions to the layout. The schedule label should describe the wall of the selected size, while the drawing establishes the actual turn and installation fit.
Review connections and operating qualification
Specify the connection form and preparation at each end, and compare them with the adjoining pipes and joining procedure. Include the intended medium, design pressure and temperature when requesting the selected grade and construction's qualification records. A wall schedule or class label alone does not establish an operating envelope. Before accepting the elbow, confirm the material, wall, turn and end preparation together so that fit and service assessments use one complete configuration.
