This 316 stainless steel B16.5 raised-face socket-weld flange enquiry also names A105 and API. Establish the accepted supplied material and complete document scope before selecting the flange configuration or evaluating construction duty.
Resolve material and applicable documents
Obtain the selected specification, grade, product form, condition and traceable inspection records. Combined 316 stainless and A105 naming cannot certify one delivered grade or establish equivalence between carbon and stainless materials.
Agree the applicable B16.5 edition and type/size/class scope with dimensional evidence. API wording needs the intended document and scope explicitly; it does not supply a complete standard number or certification. CNC Machined and Forged naming require actual processing, finish and inspection acceptance.
Choose an actual flange configuration
Twelve actual variants pair Carbon Steel or Stainless Steel with Blind, Weld Neck, Slip On, Socket Weld, Lap Joint or Threaded Flange, each carrying a 1/2"~24" range. Select one type/material combination and exact nominal size. Raised Face needs a selected facing drawing, and pressure-style range wording does not create actual class variants.
Require flange outside diameter, thickness, bore, neck/hub or socket dimensions, facing finish, bolt circle, hole count, hole diameters and tolerances. The six-hole entry and broad bolt-hole diameter range cannot establish drilling across all selections.
Review the delivered joint and service
The viewed references show stacked long-neck flange forms and a separate open-bore short-hub flange. They cannot certify socket-weld delivery, supplied grade, forging, facing or drilling. Confirm the selected type's pipe-end preparation and mating-pipe dimensions from the accepted drawing.
Pressure-class acceptance needs the applicable material-temperature basis rather than one fixed pressure. Identify compatible gasket, fasteners, mating flange and assembly requirements with actual medium, pressure, temperature, cycling and mechanical loads. Review the material/document package and complete end/drilling configuration together before accepting the assembled joint.
