This black carbon steel elbow enquiry highlights a 24-inch, 45-degree butt-weld ASME requirement. Confirm the actual supplied size before accepting the bend drawing, manufacturing specification or operating basis.
Establish the delivered size and measured 45-degree form
The sole actual selection is Elbow / 1/2-inch to 12-inch / Carbon Steel. Obtain accepted size and supply confirmation for the enquiry rather than assuming a 24-inch variant exists. Choose nominal or outside-diameter basis and a dimensioned drawing; the range does not create discrete available sizes.
Define measured angle, bend radius, center-to-end dimensions, both end diameters, bores, walls and tolerances. Repeated ranges under length, height and mounting-hole diameter do not supply these measurements. Bend and Hexagon labels cannot replace full geometry. Photographs help comparison without certifying 24-inch supply, angle or radius.
Document actual ends and the numbered standard
Accept the delivered end construction explicitly. Butt-weld supply needs selected bevel and root-face preparation, compatible pipe wall, procedure and inspection. Any threaded request needs its own thread size, form, engagement and mating acceptance. Do not infer a certified combined arrangement.
ASME alone identifies no complete numbered dimensional or pressure-rating document. Select the governing document and edition with compliance evidence. Request exact carbon steel grade, product specification, heat-traceable certificate and production inspections. A forged requirement needs actual manufacturing records rather than appearance-based acceptance.
Define the black finish against the intended service
Black and smooth wording does not specify coating composition or thickness. Agree preparation, finish or paint chemistry, coverage and weld-end treatment for the actual exposure. Corrosion-resistant wording does not establish universal fluid compatibility.
Low Pressure and Not Rated supply no numerical working envelope. Provide medium composition, temperature, pressure and cycling alongside accepted size and ends, complete 45-degree drawing, numbered standard, material and production evidence and finish criteria. Construction naming alone cannot qualify the complete elbow and installed joint.
