This pipe elbow page supports a stainless steel butt-weld enquiry for a two-inch 45-degree turn with a long-radius requirement. Begin with the piping layout and the space available around the turn. A suitable selection needs the actual radius, both pipe connections and the material specification confirmed for the same elbow configuration.
Define the long-radius layout envelope
Show the required turn angle, centerline radius and center-to-end dimensions on a drawing. Include nearby equipment or pipework where clearance limits the available space. A long-radius description needs a defined dimensional basis before it can establish fit. Product photographs help identify the fitting family, while the selected-elbow drawing should provide the measurements used for layout decisions.
Map the two-inch request to actual pipe ends
State the nominal pipe size separately from the actual outside diameter and wall thickness at each end. Confirm what the selected metric size label represents rather than assuming it is equivalent to the two-inch request. Define both connection forms and the preparation required for any butt-weld ends. If a thread is required at either connection, identify its specification explicitly and confirm that configuration.
Specify the stainless grade and service conditions
Choose Stainless Steel when that is the intended material, then provide the exact grade and material specification. Carbon Steel is a separate choice and needs its own qualification. Include the service medium, design temperature and pressure when assessing the elbow, along with the applicable dimensional standard. Ask for selected-part material and construction confirmation before accepting service suitability. General resistance, flexibility or class labels do not establish that the requested elbow will fit the layout or meet the operating conditions.
