This Q235B grooved red-painted fire-fighting steel pipe enquiry includes galvanized and Class 150 title references. The table instead records Hot Rolled as its surface treatment. Confirm the selected material and finished surface construction before specifying the pipe for an approved fire-fighting assembly.
Complete the Q235B designation and finished layers
Request the governing material document and edition, manufacturing route, condition, heat traceability and certificates for the intended Q235B item. Generic carbon steel and ASTM table entries do not establish a complete designation or an ASTM-equivalent grade. Obtain the accepted material specification explicitly.
Ask how galvanizing, red painting and the Hot Rolled entry apply to the supplied pipe. Do not assume a combined layer system or epoxy chemistry. Define substrate preparation, internal/external coverage, thickness, inspection, groove/end protection and repair, including how Slightly Oiled relates to the final condition.
Set the selected dimensions and groove profile
All three variants use thickness 1.2 with lengths 12 m, 6 m or 6.4 m. Thickness and outer diameter 150–350 have no stated units. Provide actual nominal size, bore, outside diameter and wall with units, and allocate ±1% to its intended property and measurement basis.
Request groove geometry, manufacturing method and tolerances, then confirm the mating coupling, gasket and fasteners through accepted connection records. No schedule is listed here. API/EMT/Thick Wall labels and the processing-service list do not certify the selected dimensions or installed assembly.
Approve fire-fighting service and the class reference
State medium, pressure, temperature, exposure, cycling and loads. Confirm the Class 150 rating basis and required fire-system approvals; red colour alone is insufficient evidence. Verify ISO 9001 document scope, then agree installation support, testing, inspection, handling, marking, material/finish records and quotation scope.
