This forged steel elbow listing names oil, water and gas applications and uses a grade 316 stainless socket weld description. The selectable material is Carbon Steel, and NPT also appears in the table. Resolve the actual supplied configuration before matching the elbow to a particular fluid system.

Identify the supplied material and ends

Request grade, condition and traceability records to clarify the stainless title against the carbon steel option. Generic descriptions do not settle the actual material. Define the numbered material specification and edition, since ASTM wording alone does not identify a complete acceptance standard or supplied certificate.

Obtain the end drawing to resolve the socket weld reference and NPT entry. Specify the actual socket and pipe-fit requirements or thread geometry, as applicable, with the inspections needed for the selected connection. Do not treat both descriptions as one verified installation arrangement.

Provide the actual bend dimensions

No angle or radius is specified here. Define them with nominal size, outside diameter, wall thickness and center-to-end dimensions on the selected drawing. The 1/2–12 inch option and its repetition under length, height and mounting-hole diameter do not establish those measurements.

Clarify Hexagon wording against the component geometry. Agree manufacturing records supporting FORGED and measurable surface requirements beyond smooth and corrosion resistant descriptions. Those entries do not demonstrate treatment chemistry, finish values or corrosion performance for the actual supplied elbow.

Choose the intended fluid service

State whether the order serves oil, water or gas, then provide composition, contaminants, pressure, temperature, cycles, transients and relevant loads. Broad application wording does not approve every medium. Low Pressure and Not Rated leave numerical limits unspecified. Confirm material, dimensional, end and surface documentation, marking, preservation and delivery, with OEM and warranty terms agreed separately.
