This stainless steel floating ball valve enquiry includes pneumatic and elevated-temperature wording for water, natural gas or oil discussions. Establish actual actuation and the selected internal assembly first, then qualify materials, seals and operating conditions for the specific medium.
Confirm actuation and the floating-ball arrangement
Obtain the selected valve and actuator drawing before accepting pneumatic or manual delivery. A pneumatic version needs defined air requirements, operating mode, torque, travel and control interfaces. Manual operation needs its own access and torque criteria. Handwheel photographs cannot establish the selected actuator or internal floating-ball design.
Request a sectional drawing showing actual seat and ball arrangement. Identify body, ball, stem and seat grades separately with certificates and traceability. Stainless ball wording does not qualify every wetted component. Casting is a process label rather than a material grade and requires actual production records.
Match ports, flanges and seals to the actual fluid
Choose from 3/8 in, 1/2 in, 3/4 in and 1 in(2.54cm), then confirm nominal mapping, bore and face-to-face length. The wider 1/4in–4in range does not define the selected port. Specify flange standard, rating, facing, drilling and the compatible mating assembly.
Water, gas and oil requests need their actual composition, contaminants and operating conditions. BASE does not identify a chemical, and PTFE requires selected seal geometry and compatibility assessment. Define isolation or regulating duty; Control alone does not qualify continuous throttling or accuracy.
Qualify temperature and flow for the selected variant
High-temperature wording supplies no accepted operating envelope. Obtain numerical pressure-temperature and differential-pressure limits, flow/torque data and acceptance tests. Low Pressure and Medium Pressure labels are insufficient. Treat 0–150 Celsius and 0–100 L/min as enquiry ranges requiring selected qualification. Include actual actuation, assembly/material records, seals, flange drawing and normal/upset fluid conditions with the enquiry.
