This gas and oil piping enquiry is listed as a forged carbon steel equal tee, with B16.9, A234 WPB and SCH10–SCH160 references. Its table records Equal and Welding, and the image shows tee-shaped branch fittings. The actual options nevertheless say Reducer, requiring confirmation of the item supplied.
Choose the actual tee size and wall schedule
Start with a supplier drawing that reconciles the order label and equal-tee description. Identify run and branch nominal sizes, bore dimensions, wall requirements and center-to-end geometry. Equal wording should be verified through the selected drawing, since the photograph does not measure the openings.
The broad half-inch to 110-inch option and SCH10–SCH160 title do not establish every available size and schedule combination. State the precise nominal size, schedule designation and required wall dimensions, with the applicable dimensional basis and tolerances. Agree end preparation and actual availability for that configuration.
Check gas and oil duty against the material offered
Describe the fluid composition, contaminants, pressure, temperature and operating cycles. Include mechanical loads and any project-specific exposure requirements so the selected steel and welded joint can be assessed. Gas/Oil wording alone does not establish suitability for sour fluids, hydrogen or a particular operating envelope.
The material choices are Carbon Steel and a234wpb. Confirm the actual grade and condition through traceable records, together with the claimed forging route and inspection results. Check the listed ANSI B16.9 reference and relevant edition for the offered dimensions; the generic material option is not automatically documented WPB.
Agree surface protection and acceptance checks
Painting requires a defined preparation, coating system and inspection specification where protection is needed. Dark appearance cannot identify the paint performance. High Pressure provides no numerical limit. Resolve the generic Hexagon and customized thread fields, then agree dimensional, welding, testing and project acceptance requirements for the confirmed tee.
