A four-inch schedule-40 equal tee request should define all three connections as one configuration. Confirm the actual nominal size and wall required at both run ends and the branch before accepting a carbon steel WPB or seamless-construction requirement for the tee.
Confirm four-inch dimensions at every equal-tee end
Provide the nominal designation, actual pipe dimensions and units for the two run ends and the branch. The equal-size arrangement should be clear on the tee drawing. Confirm those dimensions for the requested part rather than interpreting a millimetre selection as an equivalent pipe size. Include the center-to-end dimensions that locate the branch within the piping layout, so all three mating interfaces have a common dimensional reference.
Relate schedule 40 to the pipe and weld preparation
State the required wall thickness or schedule at each connection and identify the applicable dimensional specification. Provide the butt-weld preparation needed for the adjoining pipes. If any thread requirement is intended, specify its position and obtain confirmation separately. A general welding label cannot establish the wall or end preparation for the whole tee, and a schedule requirement should remain tied to the exact nominal-size configuration.
Verify WPB and seamless construction for carbon steel
Request confirmation of ASTM A234 WPB and seamless construction for the carbon steel tee to be supplied. The Stainless Steel choice requires its own material specification and should not inherit that grade. Provide the medium, design conditions and required inspection documentation for the same tee drawing. Final selection should connect the confirmed four-inch dimensions and schedule requirement with grade, construction and an applicable service rating before the requested equal tee is accepted.
