The focus of this enquiry is a carbon steel butt-weld SCH40 seamless equal tee for oil piping. The actual choices also include elbows, caps, couplings, crosses, flanges and nipples. Select the intended fitting before applying tee-specific dimensions or wall requirements.
Equal tee selection within mixed fitting choices
For a tee, identify run and branch nominal sizes, outside diameters, wall thicknesses and centre-to-end dimensions. Confirm equal or reducing geometry on the selected drawing; tee photographs do not qualify equal branches for every choice. Select the exact material specification and grade from the stainless, alloy or carbon steel alternatives.
Five millimetre size labels coexist with broad size references. Obtain an agreed nominal designation and unit-confirmed dimensions. The model range and separate apostrophe-based size notation do not measure the selected fitting. Length 4 in, height 4 and a mounting-hole entry also need dimensional mapping.
Butt-weld ends and seamless manufacturing evidence
Confirm whether the actual supplied interface is welded or threaded. For butt-weld ends, specify pipe-wall matching, bevel and end preparation; for NPT, establish the full thread designation and gender. Obtain manufacturing records before accepting seamless, forged or cast construction.
SCH40 is the enquiry wall reference. STD, XS and SCH80 also appear among thickness references, so establish the selected schedule and measured wall for the nominal size. No material grade or numbered dimensional standard is qualified by the unnumbered ANSI, JIS, DIN and ASME names.
Oil duty and fitting acceptance requirements
Class 125 and Low Pressure do not establish a numerical working limit. Assess actual material, wall, medium, temperature and design requirements. Flexible does not prove movement capability, and Painting needs a coating specification. Provide actual type, run/branch drawing, material and size, end preparation, manufacturing route and operating duty. Request material, dimensional and process inspection records before accepting the fitting for oil service.
