This butt-weld elbow enquiry references 904L stainless steel and ASME B16.9. Its actual Elbow variants use broad material and millimetre size labels, without an exact-grade or bend-dimension field. Link the selected variant to material records and a dimensional drawing before accepting the title's grade and standard requirements.
Verify the selected 904L material before service assessment
Choose Stainless Steel for this enquiry and request the complete material specification, edition and traceable 904L documents. Alloy and Carbon Steel alternatives need their own exact specifications. The photographed dark and silver curved examples cannot establish metallurgy or conformity for every choice. The grade reference alone also does not establish suitability for a particular fluid, corrosion condition or temperature; provide the actual service conditions for assessment.
Document the B16.9 bend and both pipe interfaces
Confirm the applicable edition and dimensional inspection evidence with a selected elbow drawing. Define the required angle and tolerance, centreline radius, centre-to-end dimensions and installation orientation. No angle, radius class or schedule is assigned here. Explain the millimetre nominal-size convention and verify both outside diameters and walls with the adjoining pipes. Check Equal against the drawing; Hexagon, the mounting-hole value and Customized Size do not complete it.
Connect the material and geometry to the joining package
Specify actual butt-weld preparation, wall alignment and joining inspection for the selected elbow and both pipes. Verify Forged through production records and clarify Painting and the required joint-zone surface condition. Appearance does not prove the manufacturing route. Establish Pipe Class 150's standard, unit and material/temperature basis. Assess the documented elbow and completed joints together using the actual fluid composition, pressure, temperature, corrosion conditions and mechanical loads, rather than a standalone class or grade assumption.
