This pipe elbow enquiry combines a 45-degree direction change, long-radius geometry and SCH40 wall requirements with the ASTM A234 WPB reference in the title. The selected fitting needs a defined angle, radius and two-end pipe interface before it can be checked for the planned line. Confirm these details through a model drawing and supporting material records.
Describe the bend and both pipe ends
Give the required angle, centreline radius and end-to-centre dimensions, with the tolerances and space available in the installation. State both mating pipe sizes. If a reducing arrangement is required, identify the inlet and outlet pair explicitly rather than relying on a single size option. Explain whether the millimetre value describes nominal size, outside diameter or another measurement, then confirm the end diameters and connection geometry on the drawing.
Connect SCH40 to the selected material
Specify the nominal size and applicable dimensional requirements used to check the SCH40 wall. Schedule alone does not establish allowable pressure. For an A234 WPB requirement, request the exact material specification, edition and traceable grade records for the selected item. Stainless-steel alternatives require a separate grade specification. Confirm manufacturing and inspection requirements from records, since surface texture or a generic process label cannot qualify the route used for the proposed fitting.
Check joining details and service conditions
Define the actual end preparation and joining requirements for the mating pipes. Female/Male wording alone cannot establish a thread specification or weld-end geometry. Provide the fluid, operating pressure and temperature, along with inspection and acceptance requirements for the complete connection. Assess the chosen wall, material and joint against those conditions; the isolated Pipe Class entry does not provide a verified duty rating. The resulting enquiry should identify one bend geometry, end pair and material configuration that can be reviewed together.
