This epoxy-coated grooved sprinkler steel pipe enquiry carries ASTM A106 and A53 references with Grade B wording in the title. The table also records Galvanized, leaving the actual finish unresolved. Confirm the selected material specification, finished coating and system requirements before choosing pipe for a sprinkler installation.
Allocate A106 or A53 and the coating construction
Request the governing material document, edition, complete designation, manufacturing route, condition and Grade B allocation. The combined title references do not establish dual certification. Obtain heat traceability and material certificates rather than using the generic carbon steel or ASTM table entry as complete evidence.
Clarify whether epoxy coating, galvanizing or an approved layer arrangement is supplied. Specify internal/external coverage, preparation, coating type, thickness, cure, adhesion and inspection. Define field-joint treatment and repair, and reconcile Slightly Oiled with the finished coating and connection surfaces.
Specify the groove and actual pipe dimensions
Three actual options pair thickness 1.2 with lengths 12 m, 6 m or 6.4 m. Thickness and outer diameter 150–350 have no stated units. Obtain the selected nominal size, bore, outside diameter and wall with units; no wall schedule is recorded for this item.
Assign ±1% to its intended property and agree the measurement basis and acceptance criteria. Request groove profile, dimensions, method and tolerances, then verify matching coupling, gasket and fasteners. Generic API/EMT/Thick Wall labels do not confirm the selected grooved assembly or its suitability.
Verify the proposed sprinkler-system approval
Provide the actual system specification, medium, pressure, temperature, exposure, cycling and loads. Request applicable sprinkler approvals rather than assuming a fire-protection listing. Verify CE/ISO 9001 document scope, then agree joining, support, testing, inspection, handling, marking, material/coating records and quotation scope for the accepted configuration.
