This A234 carbon steel short radius butt-weld elbow enquiry includes seamless and forged wording for chemical and oil applications. The actual option identifies a carbon steel elbow within a half-inch-to-12-inch range. Complete its selected specification before relying on the catalogue references for procurement.
Define the short-radius elbow angle and end detail
Request the required bend angle, nominal size, outside diameter, bore, wall thickness, measured radius and center-to-end dimensions. Neither a particular angle nor a wall schedule is recorded. The ASME reference also lacks an exact document number, so agree the applicable dimensional specification and tolerances.
The title describes butt welding, the table records Welding, and another field states NPT. Obtain an accepted end-detail drawing to reconcile these entries. Confirm matching pipe and joining requirements rather than treating threaded and butt-weld ends as an established interchangeable configuration.
Replace range assumptions with selected measurements
Overall length, height and mounting-hole diameter repeat the same broad size range. Ask for individual dimensions and clarify whether a mounting hole is actually part of this elbow. Resolve the Hexagon entry against the approved geometry; preserve the original fields as catalogue records pending clarification.
Obtain the full material designation under A234, condition, heat traceability and material certificates. WPB is not specified here. Request supporting seamless and forging records, and define inspection of the smooth finish. Corrosion-resistant wording does not establish a coating system or compatibility with a particular chemical.
Review chemical or oil duty before supply
Low Pressure and Not Rated provide no numerical operating limit. State medium, concentration, temperature, pressure, cycling and loads, including construction requirements where applicable. Agree suitability, joining, alignment, inspection, marking, documentation, warranty terms and quotation scope for the selected component.
