This carbon-steel butt-weld elbow enquiry combines ASME B16.9, SCH40 and a 90-degree long-radius requirement. These requirements should describe one selected item on a drawing and its matching records. The available material alternatives and generic millimetre choices do not establish the same geometry, wall or grade for every variant.
Check long-radius geometry with the selected end pair
Request the actual centreline radius and centre-to-end dimensions for the required turn and confirm the applicable dimensional acceptance. Identify nominal size, outside diameter and wall at both ends. Explain what the millimetre labels measure. Where reducing geometry is required, show both sizes and the transition on the selected drawing rather than inferring it from the generic Reducing field. Check weld preparation and the installation envelope against the adjoining pipes and inspection access. The photographs cannot verify the numerical radius or reducing pair.
Assign SCH40 and material to that configuration
Relate SCH40 to the chosen nominal size and actual dimensional record; the schedule label does not establish one fixed thickness across the option set. Choose carbon steel for the title requirement and obtain the exact grade, material specification and traceable records. Stainless-steel and Alloy alternatives need independent grade assignments. Photographed lettering cannot establish the offered model's material or wall. Confirm the B16.9 edition and dimensional and inspection requirements for that same configuration.
Verify production and the completed welded joint
Obtain manufacturing evidence compatible with the selected requirements before accepting the Casting label as a route. Define coating preparation and condition at weld areas instead of relying on Painting alone. Supply actual fluid, pressure, temperature and corrosion conditions together with the joining and inspection plan. Pipe Class 150 does not qualify allowable duty. Acceptance needs the agreed end-pair and radius drawing, material records and matching production and complete-joint evidence.
