A spiral-wound flange gasket enquiry needs a clear description of the sealing assembly being requested. Identify whether the requirement covers a complete gasket, a separate inner ring or another component, then define the materials and dimensions for that scope.
Separate the sealing element from its rings
For a spiral-wound construction request, specify the winding and filler materials independently of any inner or outer ring. Confirm which components are included in the supplied assembly, because a ring-material choice does not define the complete sealing element. Carbon and stainless steel selector labels should be clarified for their intended component roles, with the required grade named separately rather than inferred from a general steel label.
Align the gasket dimensions with the flange face
Provide the required inner diameter, outer diameter and thickness together with the mating flange standard, face type and pressure class. A flange drawing can show the seating arrangement that must be matched and help distinguish a complete gasket requirement from a replacement-ring request. Confirm the exact dimensional set for the selected construction instead of treating a broad size or thickness range as the supplied gasket.
Check sealing materials against the intended service
State the service medium and design temperature and pressure, then request compatibility confirmation for the actual winding, filler and ring combination. If the project requires a particular gasket standard or documentation, identify that requirement for the same assembly. Neither a reference photograph nor a steel-grade keyword establishes sealing capability. Keeping component scope, material roles and flange geometry together makes the spiral-wound gasket enquiry precise before a complete seal or separate ring is selected.
