Thread TypesNPT
This carbon steel fitting is listed as a Weldolet-style reducing branch connection, while its sole variant says Coupling with a 10 mm size entry. The title refers to butt welding and the table lists NPT. Confirm the actual fitting identity and allocation of its connections before selecting a piping configuration.
Resolve the branch, coupling and connection descriptions
Request a drawing showing whether the offered supply forms a branch connection or a coupling, with every end and contact geometry identified. The inspected main image shows an annular machined fitting but does not verify a branch interface, thread specification or exact size.
Identify any welding and threaded ends separately, including the required preparation, thread designation and inspection. Do not assume butt-weld and NPT wording describes a single confirmed interface. B16.11 needs an applicable edition and selected scope supported by the actual geometry and supply records.
Clarify dimensional roles and manufacturing requirements
The table records 4 in overall length and a 0.26 in mounting-hole field, whereas the variant uses 10 mm. These entries identify different or unclear dimensional roles rather than a complete size drawing. Define run and branch dimensions or coupling ends, tolerances and units without treating the numbers as interchangeable.
Casting is recorded as the technique and Smooth as the surface treatment. Obtain the actual material grade, condition, manufacturing and inspection evidence for the selected fitting. Neither smooth appearance nor the broad corrosion, chemical, UV or underground feature labels demonstrates tested performance for a particular exposure.
Establish the service and Class 3000 acceptance basis
Class 3000 is a designation, not a stated operating pressure, and Low Pressure provides no numerical limit. Supply medium, temperature, pressure, cycling and loading for selected material, joint and rating review. Verify the project tests and application requirements before relying on any of the broad listed uses.
