This pipeline elbow listing presents Carbon Steel as the actual selectable material and uses API 5L X65 wording in the title. It also references a welded connection, low pressure and corrosion resistance. Confirm the supplied fitting specification and actual connection before approving the component for the pipeline.
Review the fitting material and pipe match
Ask how the API 5L X65 reference applies to the proposed fitting and its adjoining pipe. Establish the actual fitting material designation, condition and traceability, with the required specification editions. The title reference should not stand in for the records needed to accept the supplied elbow.
Request the production and inspection package supporting the recorded FORGED description. Confirm measurable surface criteria and any intended treatment beyond smooth and corrosion resistant wording. Those descriptions do not establish treatment chemistry or demonstrated performance for the actual pipeline environment.
Approve the connection and bend drawing
Welded and Welding descriptions need clarification because NPT is also listed in the table. Obtain an end drawing that identifies the supplied connection and mating requirements. Specify the preparation or thread details applicable to the selected elbow rather than assigning a universal installation method.
No bend angle or radius is provided here. Define them with nominal size, outside diameter, wall thickness and center-to-end dimensions. The repeated 1/2–12 inch ranges are not actual length, height or mounting-hole measurements, and Round or Hexagon entries do not complete the drawing.
Establish numerical pipeline service acceptance
Provide the medium, composition, contaminants, pressure, temperature, cycles, transients and loads. Low Pressure and Not Rated do not supply allowable numerical limits. Review the actual fitting and joint under the pipeline requirements, then agree material, dimensional, end and surface documentation, marking, preservation, availability and delivery. Confirm OEM and warranty terms separately.
