This carbon steel pipe cap is listed for natural gas transmission enquiries with API 5L Gr.B, A234 WPB and B16.9 title references. The material and document scopes need clarification, alongside the end connection. Obtain a selected specification before treating the combined wording as an accepted gas-service component.
Resolve the joint and define the actual cap dimensions
The sole variant is Cap / 10 mm / Carbon Steel. Butt Weld in the title differs from Flange connectivity in the table. Request one consistent drawing and connection designation, then agree applicable end preparation and mating-pipe details or flange face, drilling and sealing requirements.
Clarify what 10 mm measures and specify nominal size, outside dimensions, wall and tolerances. Allocate the four-inch overall length, quarter-inch mounting hole, round shape and hexagon head on the drawing. The inch measurement entry does not supply a complete dimensional specification.
Allocate the grade and governing-document references
Ask which material or component each Gr.B/API 5L and WPB/A234 reference concerns, including any associated pipe requirement. Identify exact documents, editions, material condition and selected scope. Do not assume grade equivalence or certification from the combined title; obtain certificates and traceability for the offered cap.
Request manufacturing and examination records supporting the machining entry. Painting needs coating system, preparation, thickness and acceptance criteria. Corrosion, chemical, UV, flexible and underground labels require exposure-specific evidence rather than blanket qualification for a gas pipeline.
Specify natural gas composition and operating acceptance
Provide gas composition and contaminants, pressure, temperature, cycling, external conditions and loads. Require selected material, coating, joint and rating evidence plus project-required testing and documents. Low Pressure and Class 150 do not establish numerical limits, and no sour-gas or gas-transmission certification is supplied by this record alone.
