The ANSI B16.9 carbon steel 90-degree butt-weld elbow enquiry requires a selected bend drawing before construction pipework can be matched. Confirm the radius, wall and delivered end arrangement alongside the material and production acceptance basis.
Define the bend without assuming a radius
The sole actual variant is Elbow with Carbon Steel and a 1/2" - 12" range. Choose the exact nominal size; the range does not establish discrete available sizes. Ninety-degree naming does not establish a long or short radius.
Specify end diameters, bores, wall thickness, angle, centerline radius, center-to-end dimensions and tolerances. Repeated length, height and mounting-hole ranges cannot replace measured elbow geometry. Generic head-code wording also cannot define the full pipe-end profile.
Accept delivered ends and B16.9 compliance
Obtain the actual supplied-end drawing and joining requirements. Confirm welding preparation or the applicable thread details explicitly rather than treating different connection systems as one accepted end. Check fit-up against the mating pipe walls.
Agree the B16.9 edition, scope and dimensional evidence. The two viewed references include light-colored elbows with radius, schedule and stainless markings and a black marked elbow. These images cannot certify the supplied carbon selection's grade, size, radius, schedule or manufacturing route.
Qualify manufacture and construction conditions
Carbon Steel needs an accepted specification, grade, product form, condition and traceable inspection records. Forged and Seamless wording requires actual manufacturing evidence separately from welding installation. Smooth or corrosion-resistant wording cannot establish coating chemistry or compatibility with every medium.
Low Pressure and Not Rated provide no selected numerical operating envelope. For construction duty, identify medium composition, pressure, temperature, cycling, flow and mechanical loads. Submit the exact size/radius/wall/end drawing, material/manufacturing documents, inspection and surface requirements for acceptance of the complete pipe joint.
