A long-radius butt-weld elbow enquiry should name one required angle and one material grade. Define those choices explicitly before confirming the end geometry and construction for a Stainless Steel or Carbon Steel configuration.

Choose the actual turn from the angle requirements

State the required 45-, 60-, 90- or 180-degree turn and provide its centerline radius on a piping drawing. Include both end positions and the surrounding clearance requirements. Confirm the selected angle and long-radius geometry for the material and size being considered. A group of angle labels does not establish a verified angle choice for every variant, and a curved reference part cannot provide measured routing dimensions.

Give the steel specification one precise grade

Identify the applicable material specification and required grade for the elbow. WPB, WP11 and A105 should be stated as distinct project requirements rather than treated as interchangeable names. Confirm the selected grade for the intended steel family and construction. Include any B16.9 requirement with the relevant edition and dimensional scope, so the material discussion refers to the same elbow geometry that the pipe route needs.

Confirm both weld ends and construction together

Provide the pipe dimensions, wall thickness and butt-weld preparation at each end. Identify any female or thread requirement separately and confirm the actual connection arrangement for the supplied part. A seamless-construction requirement should also be confirmed for that configuration, with relevant material and inspection documentation. Include the medium and design pressure and temperature for the rating review. The final elbow request should bring one angle, one grade, both connections and the construction requirement together before service suitability is accepted.
