A wafer or lug butterfly-valve enquiry should define the valve mechanism, mounting arrangement and component specifications for one selected model. Identify the body, disc and seat requirements separately, then describe the intended operating package. The proposed assembly needs its own drawings and material records before it can be assessed for the pipeline and process medium.
Identify the Body, Disc and Seat Construction
Request a section drawing that establishes the mechanism and the arrangement of the disc and sealing components. State an exact material grade for each component. If the requirement includes ductile iron, CF8 or another material, identify which part it applies to rather than combining several labels into one specification. Define the required seat material, such as an EPDM or PTFE requirement, and obtain the corresponding composition and compatibility records for the selected assembly.
Specify Wafer or Lug Mounting and Operation
Choose the required mounting arrangement and obtain its dimensional drawing. Compare the drilling, face-to-face dimensions, bore and disc-clearance requirements with the mating pipeline. Confirm the nominal size and interface together. State whether lever, gear or hydraulic operation is required and identify what equipment belongs to the proposed package. The operating method should be linked to the selected model and the installation access requirements.
Qualify the Actual Medium and Standard Scope
Name the process medium and provide its composition, concentration, pressure and service temperatures. Any acid application needs dedicated material and sealing compatibility evidence for those actual conditions. Identify the exact ANSI or API standard and edition if required, and request the relevant model-specific conformity records. Obtain the qualified operating envelope for the same configuration. Complete the enquiry with the mechanism, mounting drawing, component materials, operator scope and service evidence before choosing the final assembly.
